Strawberry Festival
For some 115 years the Strawberry Festival has grown to see between 3-4,000 people enjoying the afternoon. The event includes the standard Christian entertainment, incredible quilt auction, food, and children's activities. Each year there are additional things tried, including a volleyball tournament or a larger children's carnival. The food concessions have the brats and dogs that that our Rotary Club cook for them each year and a variety of other event foods; grilled chicken, lemonade, and sometimes things like funnel cakes and cinnamon glazed pecans and almonds. Let's not forget to mention the gallons of strawberries that get poured over various cakes and ice cream or those special chocolate covered strawberries.
In about four hours, the Club can serve
17 cases of bratwurst and more hot dogs than that. Along with soda and
chips, it's a busy day. We
continue to sell out all the product they give us to sell and are pleased to be
the highest grossing booth in the event. Here are a few shots of the
effort:

Tom lead the effort and helped hold the booth in place on a windy day. ADG (at the time) Chuck kept a keen eye on the operation.
